I will be showing my work in a 2 person show in downtown Buffalo at the C Stuart and Jane Hunt Gallery. I will be exhibiting new paintings along side the abstract sculptures of Kevin Kegler. The show, “Shaded Spaces” will run from August 30 to October 10, 2024. An opening reception will be held from 6:00-9:00pm on Friday August 30 at the gallery, 403 Main Street, across the street from the Hotel Lafayette. An artist talk is also in the works for late September.

I had one piece accepted to this prestigious show in New York City. "The purpose of this exhibition is to showcase today’s exceptional contemporary figurative art. Salmagundi will present an overview of representational art that focuses on the human figure and face. This exhibition will represent the current state of figurative art in New York City.” The show is being held at The Salmagundi Club from September 2- September 27, 2024. There will be an artists reception at the Club on Thursday September 19, from 6:00-8:00pm. The Club is located at 47 Fifth Ave in New York.

I will be included in this year’s Buffalo Society of Artists Catalog Exhibition at BAM Gallery (Buffalo Art Movement). The show will be up from September 16, 2022 to October 30, 2022. The gallery is open Friday-Sunday 12-5, and is located at 255 Great Arrow Ave, suite 200.

I have a new painting that will be shown in this online exhibition presented by Poets and Artists magazine. This was an international juried show. There were approximately 50 works chosen from artists around the globe. The Quest for the Modern Figure is on view from November 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021. I have two paintings hanging in this year’sExhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. The show is on view in the upper gallery of the Club from November 10-20, 2020. Due to covid restrictions, there will not be an opening reception. The Salmagundi Club is located at 47 Fifth Ave at 12th Street in Manhattan.

I was honored to be awarded the Joseph Hartley Memorial Award for Best Oil Painting.

My work was selected as part of in international show, The Human Condition, at Anarte Gallery in San Antonio TX. The exhibition includes 16 paintings by artists representing 16 countries, and 9 states in the US. The juror for this show was Steven Daluz. The opening reception is on November 12, 2020, and the work will be on view until December 30, 2020.

I will be exhibiting a new painting at this year’s Painting the Figure NOW III exhibition at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art in Wausau, WI. This is an international juried exhibition with a few invited artists, including this year Cesar Santos. The exhibition is being sponsored by the Poets and Artists group, run by Didi Menendez. The exhibition opens on October 8, 2020, and runs until December 12, 2020. There is an opening reception scheduled for October 8 from 6:00-9:00pm at the museum. Obviously with covid restrictions this may change.

I have one piece juried in to the Figuratively Speaking show at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. The exhibition will run from February 24 to March 12, 2020. There will be an artists reception and awards presentation on March 5 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The Salmagundi Club is located at 47 Fifth Ave at 12th Street, in Manhattan. Figuratively Speaking is a national juried show of contemporary figurative and portrait work in all media. I very excited to have been selected to be in this tremendous show with many nationally know artists, and to be showing at the historic Salmagundi Club. This is also my first time showing my work in NYC.

Extra Great News, I was awarded the SCNY Chairman’s Award, 4th Place. I’m extremely honored and grateful to be selected! There are 191 pieces in the show.

I will be part of a three person show this September at Buffalo State College. "Bodies and Places" will be exhibited in Upton Hall September 12-27, 2018. The artists will be Marc Duquette, Sandra Bartz, and Brian Porter. There will be an artist's reception, date and time to be determined. Sandra and I are Buffalo State alumni, and she and Brian were adjunct professors at the college.

I have 2 works showing currently at the Fine Arts League of Buffalo's Spring Juried Exhibition. The painting "Reflections" was awarded Best in Show! My first. I'm very thankful and honored to win. The show is at River Art Gallery at 83 Webster St, North Tonawanda, NY. The work will be on view from April 1-May 1, 2017. Check the gallery for hours. 

I had two works selected for the Traditional installation of the Western NY Artists Group juried members exhibition. The show runs from Friday February 10 through March 11, 2017 at The Artists Group Gallery. The gallery is located at One Linwood Ave, in Buffalo. For more info on the gallery check wnyag.com.

I will be part of this year's Artists in Buffalo Holiday Open Studios and Galleries. The Drawing Room will be open to the public Friday Dec 2 from 5-9pm, Saturday and Sunday Dec 3, 4 from 11am-6pm. I will be working on a couple of new projects as well as working with students. There will be oil paintings, drawings, and some photography for sale.

The Drawing Room is located at 700 Parkside Ave, Suite 200, Buffalo, NY. Enter at the square portion of the building (not the church), press for Suite 2 and go downstairs to the right.

I will again be apart of The New Masters exhibition, showing 2 new works at the Joseph Carrier gallery in North York, ON. This year's juried exhibition will be bigger, as works will be hung in the lower level gallery rotunda and the lobby.  The show has been extended to run from November 3-January 2, 2017. There is an opening reception on November 3 from 6:30-9:30. The Carrier Gallery is located in the Columbus Center, 901 Lawrence Ave West, North York, ON.

I have been invited to exhibit at this year's COMMFFEST Global Community Film Festival in Toronto. There are 2 venues for the visual art component of the festival. I will be showing at the Metro Rotunda Hall. Sponsored by the City of Toronto, The Rotunda  Hall is situated in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment district where 20,000 people per week walk through on their way to work, the Roy Thompson Hall, the Toronto International Film Festival Bell light box and surrounded by world-class hotels, e.g. the RITZ, restaurants,  the famous Princess of Wales theatres, and clubs.

I am extremely happy to announce that my work has been chosen as a finalist in the Art Renewal Center 12th International Salon. This is the premier international realist art competition in the Americas. There were 3,200 entries by over 1,300 artists. The finalists in each category are chosen by a panel of jurors. Two works have been accepted to the Buffalo Society of Artists Fall Exhibition. This exhibition will be held at the Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda, NY, from September thru October 15, 2016. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Sept, 15 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Carnegie Art Center is located at 240 Goundry St, North Tonawanda, 14210. 

This show is another part of the celebration of the BSA's 125th anniversary.

I have work accepted in to this year's American Art Collector Catalogue. The book will be sent out across the US to 3,000-plus art galleries, art dealers, collectors, and agents. I will also receive 600 promotional postcards of the image that was selected for the book. I'm truly excited to be included in this edition, and hope it leads to some great opportunities.

I will have work included in this year's ARA Spring Juried Exhibition at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, ON. This is great, considering the number of works accepted is smaller than years past. The exhibition will have an opening reception on Saturday May14 from 2:00-7:00 at the Academy, 2968 Dundas St. West, Toronto, ON. The work will be shown until June 30.

One of my recent paintings has been selected to be included in the 120th Catalogue Exhibition of the Buffalo Society of Artists. This year's Exhibition will be held at the Castellani Art Museum on the campus of Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY. There will be an opening reception and awards ceremony at the museum on Sunday March 20, 2016 from 2:00-4:00pm. The Castellani Museum is located at 5795 Lewiston Road, Niagara Falls, NY, 14109.

I've had 2 recent works selected to be included in this year's WNY Artists Group Juried Members Exhibition. There will be an opening reception on Friday February 19 from 7:30-9:00pm at the Artists Group Gallery, One Linwood Ave, in Buffalo.

I have had two new works selected to be included in the ARA Open House and Holiday Exhibition. The show is at the Academy of Realist Art, 2968 Dundas St W, in Toronto. The Opening reception and open house is on December 12 from 2-7pm. The work will be up until Jan 23, 2016. If you are able to get up to see the show, it will be well worth it.

On the first weekend of December 4-6 (Fri-Sun), The Drawing Room will be having an Open Studio. We will be part of the Artists in Buffalo Holiday Open Galleries and Studios event which takes place throughout Buffalo. There will be works of mine and my students hung, live figure and portrait demos, and students working on various projects. The Drawing Room will be open the whole weekend, so please stop in to see what we are doing, and maybe learn something cool. Hours will be 5-9pm on Friday, and 11-6 Saturday and Sunday.

The Drawing Room will be hosting a portrait painting and drawing workshop led by Academy of Realist Art Senior Instructor Fernando Freitas. The workshop will be 3 days, Friday October 30-Sunday Nov 1. The hours will be 10:00am-4:00pm each day, with a one hour break for lunch. The cost for the weekend is $350, which includes a model fee.

Fernando will be working with a limited palette in oils, but you may choose to use painting or drawing materials. He will be doing 2 portraits during the weekend. Depending on registration, you may be able to come for 2 days if you can't make all 3. Space is limited. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may be interested.
